Western Australia Declaration of State of Emergency and Public Health Emergency

The Government of Western Australia has declared a State of Emergency and a Public Health Emergency in response to COVID-19 coronavirus.

Regional travel

Travel within WA has been restricted, this applies to travel between regional areas, including additional restrictions for Goldfields-Esperance, remote Aboriginal communities and the Kimberley. Exemptions are specified in the relevant directions.

Any other direction relating to the Emergency Management Act 2005 (WA).

We understand there is considerable public concern. We are taking the situation very seriously and implementing measures to protect the community and minimise potential impacts of COVID-19. Western Australians should be reassured we have the ability and capability to respond and recover from a pandemic situation.
