Emily Roper

Emily is the Deputy Director General of the Policy and Reform division with the Department of Premier and Cabinet. This division is responsible for overseeing a range of significant strategic initiatives.

Emily has worked for the Commonwealth and Western Australian public sector in change management, capability development and engagement roles in Australia and overseas. Prior to being appointed Deputy Director General, Emily led the Public Sector Reform Unit, which is responsible for coordinating and supporting wide-ranging public sector reform.

Most recently, Emily worked with the Department of Justice, providing executive leadership of operational governance and specialist services to corrections operations. In the Commonwealth public sector, Emily held strategic leadership, operational and liaison engagement roles. She led a number of projects to review and redesign core and specialist capabilities, including in partner agencies, and oversaw their implementation.
