Meeting
Outcomes of the ninth Streamline WA Steering Committee meeting.

Finding more ways to make it easier to do business

During its ninth meeting on 26 February 2020, the Streamline WA Steering Committee focused on identifying opportunities to further regulatory reform across the public sector. The Steering Committee heard from Executive Director of Driver and Vehicle Services of the Department of Transport, Steve Mitchinson on the plans and progress of Service WA.

One of the government’s public sector reform initiatives, Service WA aims to improve access to government services by piloting a face-to-face one-stop shop in Bunbury for 85 everyday transactional services. The project will be supported by an expanded online service directory on the WA.gov.au website.
The Steering Committee and Mr Mitchinson discussed Service WA’s customer-centric approach and how it could be applied to improve access to government services and processes, and make it easier to do business in Western Australia.

The Steering Committee also noted the Australian Government Deregulation Taskforce Report Card, acknowledging the synergies between the agenda of the Australian Government and Streamline WA.

Streamline WA continues to encourage members of industry, business and the community to share their ideas to improve regulation and regulatory practice.
