Ideas from the WA community lead to regulatory reform

Streamline WA Steering Committee meeting October 2019 The Streamline WA Steering Committee began its seventh meeting on 30 October 2019 by noting the number of Streamline WA submissions received from State Government agencies and members of industry, business and the community.

From a total of 45 submissions received to date, 90 regulatory issues have been identified. 26 of these issues have formed the basis for Streamline WA’s first three projects: Environmental Approvals in the Mining Sector, Regulatory Practice and Culture and Barriers to the Establishment of Tourism Attractions.

The Steering Committee commended business, industry and the community for their interest in improving regulation in Western Australia and anticipates new reform projects will emerge as more submissions are received.

The Barriers to the Establishment of Tourism Attractions project team presented a findings report to the Steering Committee. The report described the regulatory issues raised by tourism businesses and stakeholders during the project’s consultation process, and identified the regulatory issues that will be prioritised for further investigation.
Streamline WA encourages community members to continue sharing their ideas to improve regulation via the Streamline WA portal.
