Licence Exemption Applications

Energy Policy WA assesses applications for electricity and gas licence exemptions.

ANNOUNCEMENT: The Minister for Energy has asked Energy Policy WA to undertake a review of the regulatory framework for electricity retail licensing and exemption activities. Given the intended scope of the review, the Minister for Energy has determined that no additional solar power purchase agreement licence exemption applications will be accepted.

The review will determine the most suitable form of regulation to ensure that all electricity consumers have adequate customer protections, regardless of the business model used for the delivery of electricity supplies.

Consultations on licence exemption applications and review processes

Energy Policy WA will generally publish licence exemption applications for public comment as part of the assessment process. Details of the open and closed consultations are outlined below, along with decisions on licence exemption applications.
