What is a written quote?

The written quote process is used for the procurement of goods and/or services valued between $50,000 and $250,000.

The process takes you from requesting the quote to sending letters to the successful and unsuccessful suppliers.

Should I use a written quote when making a purchase valued between $50,000 and $250,000?

Your agency may invite a limited number of suppliers to submit written quotes. If your purchase is simple and low risk you should use the Written Quote Template Suite.  If you believe the purchase is not simple and low risk then you should use the other contract formation templates in the Goods and services templates

Your agency should not use the written quote template suite if the goods and/or services is:

  • high risk
  • can be bought from a Common Use Arrangement
  • an Information Communication Technology procurement
  • for Cleaning Services
  • procured and delivered outside Australia, or
  • not commercial, such as a grant, disposal or an investment or for procurement under the Delivering Community Services in Partnership Policy
