Important information for visitors to our prisons and the Banksia Hill Detention Centre
Social visits have been suspended at all prisons, work farms and the Banksia Hill Detention Centre. The Department of Justice, Corrective Services is working to minimise the risks posed to prisoners and staff by the introduction of COVID-19 into the custodial estate.
The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic will continue to be monitored in line with advice from the Chief Health Officer and federal and state authorities and prison social visits will recommence as soon as it is deemed safe to do so.
Our Pandemic Management Plan is in place while each prison has its own operational plan to keep those in our care, staff and visitors healthy and safe.
Measures to prevent and manage COVID-19 are being reviewed every day based on the latest medical advice.
